From the instant God begins knitting them in their mother's wombs (Psalm 139:13), children are our heavenly Father's treasure! He tells us that they are a gift and a heritage from Him (Psalm 127:3) and calls grandchildren the "crown of the aged" (Proverbs 17:6). When some of Jesus' disciples tried to fend off some who were bringing children to Him, He rebuked them and commanded they be allowed through because the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those like them Matthew 19:13-14) and he sternly warned concerning disdaining or scorning children, and those who have become like them as future citizens of that Kingdom, because their angels are always before God (Matthew 18:10).
