About the Ministry

# The backstory

Welcome to Cards of Ministry

Cards of Ministry is a free Christian ministry offering Scripture-based eCards, encouraging articles, and traditional and original songs of worship. Everything shared here is intended to help believers love one another, encourage one another, grow in their walk with Jesus, and share God's Word with others.

The Backstory

My name is Stephen. I am a child of God, saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I created Cards of Ministry as a love offering to Him and to our Father, and to fellow believers who delight in sharing Him and His Word with church family, loved ones, and anyone they may be led to share with.

We enter this world as children made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27), but the natural ‘Prodigal’ in us leads us on worldly paths where we all stumble (Romans 3:23) and lose our way.

Thanksgiving and praise be to our Father who calls us back home!

We learn in the Gospel of Matthew that this this gracious invitation from God is the first words of Jesus’ ministry to the world at large (Matthew 4:17). In this verse, the original Aramaic manuscript of the book of Matthew uses the word:  לתיבותא (pronounced LaaThYaaVuuThaA). This melodic-sounding Aramaic word carries two beautiful meanings: a return to God... and a homecoming!

Here is that verse from the Original Aramaic New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs

From then on, Yeshua began to preach and to say, "Return to God, for The Kingdom of Heaven has come near."   (OANT)

What an invitation! What a destination! Looking back, I can hardly believe I waited so long to seriously take Him up on that invitation!Yet it reminds me of a wonderful truth: we can never wander so far, or for so long, that our Father and the Lord Jesus cannot lovingly bring us home again.

Walking Together

When we believe in Jesus—and believe Him—we change our path and follow Him, our Good Shepherd (John 10:27–29), accepting God's compassionate invitation.

As we walk with God, He teaches us to follow Him in many ways, including:

·       Love our God (Mark 12:30)

·       Love one another (John 13:34-35)

·       Serve one another (Matthew 23:11)

As a small gift to fellow believers walking this path, I offer Cards of Ministry with its galleries of Scripture-based, inspirational and devotional e-Cards all:

  • inspired by and built on Scripture
  • adorned with artistry old and new
  • celebrating His wondrous creation
  • free of charge

You can share our e-Cards by e-mail or in smartphone text messages. Social media users will also find them easy to post to platforms such as X, Facebook, Instagram and others. E-Cards can also make a sweet and practical adjunct to any church or personal card ministry, allowing encouragement to reach others quickly while  requiring no postage.

About Our Logo

Throughout our site, on our e-Cards, and wherever our ministry is shared, you'll often see our logo—a dove bursting forth in light while carefully carrying an envelope.

The simple elements of our logo remind us of the inspiration behind all we do:

  • Streaming light, reminding us of God's light and of Jesus, the Light of the World.
  • A dove, representing the Holy Spirit, peace, and hope.
  • The envelope she carries, symbolizing a message of encouragement, love, and care shared from one heart to another.

About Our e-Cards

Sharing God's Word and encouragement with others is at the heart of Cards of Ministry. Our free Christian e-Cards make it easy to send a thoughtful message to family and friends for encouragement, special occasions, or God's Holy Days, or simply to let someone know they are remembered and loved.

Our e-Cards are made possible through eCardWidget.com, which securely delivers the cards by email or social sharing. For cards sent by email, the service can also notify you when your recipient has opened your card. As our ministry grows, we can expand our service to accommodate additional sharing.

About Our Printed Cards and Gifts

Many of our Scripture-inspired designs are also available as professionally printed greeting cards and gifts through our Cards and Gifts section and our complete Cards of Ministry shop on Zazzle.

Some printed designs are based on our e-Cards, while others are created especially for print. Greeting cards, mugs, journals, and other keepsakes provide another way to share God's Word and encouragement with family and friends.

To help support Christian ministries, proceeds from shop commissions are shared equally between:

Our commission is intentionally kept modest (currently 11.7%), helping keep products affordable while allowing every purchase to support these ministries.

As the Apostle Paul taught the Colossians in chapter 3 and verses 16 and 17 of the New King James version:

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

It is our prayer that during your visit you will discover encouragement, hope, and God's Word shared in ways that bless both you and those with whom you choose to share it..

God bless you, and keep you.

  -Stephen
