About Cards of Ministry

# The backstory

A bit about me and why Cards of Ministry is here...

My name is Stephen, a sinner and imperfect man who has been saved by grace through faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, I created Cards of Ministry as a love offering to Him and to our Father, and to fellow believers who delight in sharing Him and His word with loved ones, fellow believers, and anyone they may be led to share with.

We enter this world as children made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27) but the natural ‘Prodigal’ in us leads us on worldly paths where we all stumble (Romans 3:23) and lose our way.  Thanksgiving and praise be to our Father who calls us back home!  We learn in the Gospel of Matthew that this peace offering from God are the first words of Jesus’ ministry to the world at large (Matthew 4:17). In this verse, the original Aramaic manuscript of the book of Matthew uses the word:  לתיבותא (pronounced LaaThYaaVuuThaA). This melodic sounding Aramaic word has as two of its main meanings -a return to God and... a homecoming!

Here is that verse quoted from the Original Aramaic New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs

From then on, Yeshua began to preach and to say, "Return to God, for The Kingdom of Heaven has come near."   (OANT)

What an invitation! What a destination! Today, I can't believe that it took me fifty years to seriously take Him up on it. Still, it helps to prove the truth that we can never wander too far, or too long away, from our Father and Jesus that they cannot bring us back home.

When we believe in Jesus and believe Him, we change our path and follow Him, our Good Shepherd (John 10:27-29), accepting God's compassionate invitation!

On that path back to God, He has teaches us many ways to follow Him, such as:

·       Love our God (Mark 12:30)

·       Love one another (John 13:34-35)

·       Serve one another (Matthew 23:11)

As a small gift to fellow believers walking this path, I offer Cards of Ministry with its supply of inspirational, animated eCards built on Scriptures and adorned with artistry old and new, inspired by the Bible and by His wonderous creation, all free of charge.  You can send eCards by e-mail or share them via text messages and on social media such as X, Facebook, Instagram and others. ECards can also make a great adjunct to any church or personal card ministry, being swifter to arrive and requiring no postage.

Some of the photography and artwork used for our eCards is mine, and others are licensed stock photos and creations of others, or from the public domain.  One eCard category I am excited to share is one that I call ‘Antiquities’ where the art is from century-plus old Bible pages or postcards and other church ephemera scanned and given a new life to share with others today.

As the Apostle Paul taught the Colossians in chapter 3 and verses 16 and 17 of the New King James version:

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

My prayer is that the eCards and other offerings here at Cards of Ministry.org will be a humble help to my brothers and sisters in Christ walking out Paul's advice and will be a blessing to you and to those with whom you share them.

God bless you.
